EF Language and Culture Camp in Costa Rica
Prepare for your High School Year by meeting other exchange students, learning about Costa Rican culture and practicing Spanish. The Language and Culture Camp is designed to help you get ready for your exchange year.
What you will learn
Become more comfortable speaking Spanish before meeting your Costa Rican host family and starting school. You will:
- Meet “professionals” – former exchange students – to hear about their experiences and ask their advice.
- Take classes from native speaking teachers who offer practical instruction about Costa Rican life, culture and current events.

Attending a different high school and taking classes in a foreign language is a challenge, but also rewarding. It will broaden your horizons, expose you to new things and lead to personal growth. In addition, the experience will provide you with skills that will contribute to your future academic studies and career.

Things you will do
Besides meeting new friends and learning about your host country, you will take part in many fun activities that might include:
- Shopping at a local market
- Trying out the typical Costa Rican food
- Playing sports
- Have lots of fun with the other exchange students
