Spanish Courses in Quito

EF’s Spanish courses in Quito offer an authentic South American experience in one of the world’s most breathtaking natural settings.

Study Spanish in Quito and experience authentic Ecuador. Our language courses prepare students to step out into the streets and interact with the locals, who are said to speak Spanish in its most easily understood form. EF Quito is located in the city’s contemporary part of town, an area known for its fashionable stores and cafes. You’ll also be a short walk from two of the city’s biggest parks, where impromptu games of soccer and picnics among friends are common.

EF’s Spanish courses in Quito are held in the warm, friendly atmosphere of our language school. Our facilities are shared with Ecuadorian students studying English, so you’ll have the unique opportunity to mingle with locals before stepping beyond the walls of EF. The student lounge, cafeteria and outdoor garden are the perfect place to strike up a conversation. At EF Quito you can go beyond Spanish courses to make a difference in the local community by volunteering with The Red Cross or in a local nursery.

The Middle of the World

Quito’s old town is one of the most well-preserved in all of South America and it has been named a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. This historic area of the city is full of colonial charms, as museum-worthy cathedrals and bustling plazas define the area. The old town attracts quite a bit of tourist traffic, but opportunities to interact with local and indigenous Ecuadorians abound as traditional markets pop up daily. The new town is where Quito gets down to business, as modern buildings and broad avenues rise from the valley floor.

Quito sits in a lush green plateau, flanked by the snow-covered peaks of the Andes Mountains. Quito is situated a mere 15 minutes from the equator, or the geographical center of the earth. Outside of your Spanish courses in Quito you’ll want to head beyond the city limits to experience Ecuador’s amazing environment. Spend your weekends mountain biking or rafting in the nearby Andes. Go on a guided tour deep into the thick of the Amazon jungle. Learn how to surf on the wild Pacific coast. Or go on an excursion to the Galapagos Islands where the abundance of animal species is simply staggering.
