St. Julians

Discover St. Julian's with EF

Malta may have some of Europe’s best beaches and most spectacular coastlines, but this island nation is defined by more than just its glittering Mediterranean shores. The island’s history traces back thousands of years, and there are few places on earth boasting a density of historic sites comparable with Malta’s. EF’s activities coordinators are onsite in Saint Julian’s to introduce you to the island’s blend of idyllic landscapes and remarkable heritage.

Sightseeing & Culture

Walk through the streets of the historic capital of Valletta, a spectacular coastal city designated as a UNESCO heritage site. Make your way through the maze-like alleys of the ancient and pristinely-preserved Mdina. Tour the ruins of the Hagar Qim and Mnajdra temples, set on southwest Malta’s cliff side and predating the Egyptian pyramids. Paddle a kayak around the Blue Grotto, a series of caves and inlets boasting deep blue waters and distinctive rock formations.

Shopping

Saint Julian’s is Malta’s premier shopping destination. The Bay Street Complex is a large shopping mall and entertainment center in the heart of the city and The Point, the island’s largest shopping mall, offers the latest designer clothing and accessories.

Sports & Outdoors

Malta’s endless sunshine means that the possibilities for outdoor activities are endless. Scuba dive around fish-filled reefs and fascinating ship wrecks in some of the world’s clearest waters. Try windsurfing, kayaking and waterskiing in the waters around Saint Julian’s or paraglide in the skies above. Horseback ride in the countryside or join EF’s frequent boat parties in the summer months.

Excursions

Tour the ancient ruins and breathtaking scenery of Gozo Island. Swim in the crystal clear waters of Comino Island’s Blue Lagoon. Head off the islands for weekend trips to nearby Sicily and the Italian capital of Rome.

Entertainment & Nightlife

St. Julian’s is the capital of Maltese nightlife. The coastal neighborhood of Paceville is the heart of the city’s clubbing scene and internationally-known DJs spin regularly. For a more sophisticated night out, catch a live performance at the historic Manoel Theater.
